Airlines and airports in the UAE are gearing up for a significant increase in travel as the summer holiday rush begins.
Starting July 6, Dubai International Airport (DXB) anticipates handling approximately 3.3 million passengers until July 17 , with peak travel days expected on July 6 and July 13. On these days, the airport estimates around 840,000 passengers will pass through its terminals.
Travel tips to avoid congestion
To help ensure a smooth travel experience, Dubai Airports has issued several recommendations :
- Arrive early: Passengers flying with Emirates should arrive at the airport three hours before their flight, while Flydubai travelers are advised to arrive four hours in advance. Other airlines recommend arriving no later than three hours prior to departure.
- Use public transport: Travelers are encouraged to utilize the Dubai Metro to and from the airport, particularly between Terminals 1 and 3.
- Airport restrictions: Access to the arrivals’ forecourts in Terminals 1 and 3 is restricted to public transport and authorized airport vehicles only. Those dropping off passengers are advised to bid farewell at home.
- Prepare for security: Travelers should be ready for security screenings by ensuring items such as batteries and power banks are easily accessible in their hand luggage. This preparation can expedite the check-in and boarding processes.
Special offers and amenities
To enhance the travel experience, Emirates Airlines is introducing complimentary treats from retro ice cream stalls in Terminal 3 . These stalls will be available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 6 PM throughout July.
