The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has unveiled its latest additions to the World Heritage Sites list for 2024, showcasing a diverse array of natural, cultural, and mixed marvels from around the globe. This announcement was made during the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee , convened in New Delhi, India, from July 21 to 31, 2024.

This year’s selection includes 19 cultural sites, 4 natural sites, and 1 mixed site, bringing the total number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites to 1,223.

Achieving this elevated status signifies more than just a boost in tourism; it indicates that the site is recognized as “of outstanding value ” and underscores the urgent need for its protection for future generations.
